Kathy Spalding
Kathy Spalding is one of the most notable international sculptors of true life bronzes in the country. As a child she studied at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Her formal education began with drawing and etching at Pratt Institute. She studied drawing and lithography at Cornell, engraving and bronze casting at the University of Iowa, and engraving at the acclaimed Atelier Garrigues in France.

As a wild life artist she has pursued independent studies and work in such exotic destinations as the Amazon and Rio Negro, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Falkland Islands, Antarctica, Tasmania, New Zealand, Australia and Western Europe.

Kathy is one of the few artists who has mastered and refined the "lost wax process" used for hundreds of years to create bronze sculptures. Her work outstanding and unique in that she has developed a technique working directly in wax, which affords her the ability to create fine detail in larger than life size compositions.

Her art and her sculpture has been recognized and collected by major national and international corporations, naturalist organizations, architects, fine art collectors, and museum patrons. Her remarkable creations may be found in such noted collections as  Andrew and Jamie Wyeth, Turnberry Ocean Colony, Estuary at Grey Oaks, Cleveland Clinic, Mystic Seaport Museum, Garden of Hope and Courage, Okalahoma Aquarium, Bacardi, The Conservancy of SW Florida, Archer Daniels, Meadox Medical, Rollins family, Suzanne von Liebig, MBNA, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Society Expeditions, Ocean Reef Club, Sun International-Sol Kerzner, Atlantis, and others.
